The only obvious differences between them would be the Neeon 2’s slightly lengthier profile, longer battery life and distinct ability to sell a greater variety of official Creative skins and customizations – to the delight of Creative’s marketing department of course.
On the upside the Lithium-ion Polymer battery within handled the screen pretty well with up 8 hours of video playback and 20 hours of audio playback. There’s no denying that this device is pitched at the iPod nano market, due to its size and capacity.

Although a sterling digital audio player when compared to the majority of players out there in the market, the latest Neeon 2 offering from Creative is anything but the revolutionary ‘Creative’ gadget we had anticipated.
However key shortcomings we found in the previous player – namely a poor user interface and fiddly controls – haven’t seen as much improvement in the Neeon 2 as we would’ve liked.
It out performs any other laptop I have tried for gaming, and the transportable design and incredible display also make it ideal for work.
At least the long battery life should minimise inconvenience, with Creative quoting 20 hours of music playback and eight hours of video playback. Cons Poor user interface, music organised by filenames rather than tags, limited audio codec support, fiddly controls, no FM recording, average sound quality.
Not stopping there, the Neeon 2’s CSTN screen also suffered from white light bleeding along the sides and a relatively poor viewing angle – a slight glance to the side is all it takes for the display to lose its color composition.
